internet essentials wireguard vpn installed on raspberry pi, modem = CGM4140COM in bridge mode, wireless router
I recently switched to internet essentials and I have a modem/router model CGM4140COM. Before I put the modem in bridge mode I set the ip address to 192.168.0.1.
I attached a wireless router to the modem and the only way to get the ethernet ports on the back of the router to work was to set the IP to the same as the modem 192.168.0.1
I set up ddns on the router and it's working perfectly. I created a new wireguard client and installed in on my laptop and mobile but it's unable to connect to the raspberry pi. I had this working perfectly on my Arris G36 router. I have port forwarding set up exactly the same way I had it set up with the Arris G36 modem/router.
Is this possible with the internet essentials router CGM4140COM?
Is it possible to switch my router back to the arris g36 and still have internet essentials?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good evening @user_dcrgs2, and thank you for reaching out on our Community Forums with your Internet Essentials equipment inquiry. You are required to use the xFi gateway that's included with your service. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks for your feedback on the need to keep the xfinity xfi gateway if you have internet essential.
This link helped me resolve part of my vpn issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/DDWRT/comments/bwo8ne/dd_wrt_and_comcast/
You need to connect you wireless router into the LAN 1 port on the CGM4140COM modem/router after putting it in bridge mode.
Once I did this both wireguard and openvpn started to work.
