Internet drops out several times a day

Hello,

I've been having problems for the past few weeks where my internet seems to drop out for a minute or 2 then comes back on several times a day. Sometimes it happens so frequently the internet is unusable.

I've called tech support a few times and they say everything looks fine on their end, and a tech came out and checked my Xb6 modem and said it tested bad and replaced it with a XB7, but it still didn't fix the problem. A tech is scheduled to come out again on Monday the 21st.

I would post a screenshot of my Upstream/Downstream info but I'm not sure how to do that.

please advise.

thanks

I asked the line maintenance guy what was acceptable as the upper limit as seen @ the modem and he said 54 or 55 (cant remember the exact number he said but it was 1 of the 2). I told him that my internet would not work when it got to 52. he then asked If i noticed my modem light blinking when it was at 52 which I said no.

I think there was some confusion between connection drop and modem rebooting. All I know is @ 52 my internet does not work.

Anyway it's been several hours now and my connection has been solid so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks

He is mistaken. Comcast turned off the *Extended Upstream Power" feature on the system a while back. The upper limit is 50-51 dB. The sweet spot is 45 dB as I stated earlier.

I hope that things hold up for you. Good luck with it !
