Internet down repeatedly in cold weather

My internet service goes down for long periods of time in very cold weather (20 degrees or less).  I had one service appointment but they said everything was fine.  It was warmer out and Internet was working.  What can I do?  It keeps happening. I’m about ready to try Fios

This keeps happening to me too, my internet has not been able to connect for over a week. Every now and then it will come back but not for long. I have replaced my modem twice, and had a technician come over who got the internet working briefly when it warmed up over the weekend but then it went back to being out as soon as the weather dropped on Sunday. Now I’m facing a snow storm in Houston and no one claiming there is an outage. I have power and supposedly they changed the cables outside my house but this has not improved service.

Apparently, this is not so uncommon an issue since I too have been experiencing my internet going out once the temperature drops.  I have a relatively new modem which works great when the temperature is above freezing, but then it goes in and out as the temperature drops.  I’ve been without internet for two days now.  Prior to that, my internet was constantly going out during the cold evenings.  I purchased a new modem thinking it might be the problem, but of course I got no connection with that.  I even took my modem down to my basement to the point where the cable running from the Xfinity cable box to the interior of my home was, and plugged in my modem there; still no connection.  Prior to the most recent cold spell, I changed all the connectors on the cables that run through my house, and verified I had internet connectivity at that time.  Once the severe cold hit on Sunday, my internet went out and is still out at this time.

Thanks for the offer of assistance but no longer needed.   A tech crew was in the area about 2 days later & found an issue they were able to repair.  So far so good.

I am having the same issues since last week when temps went down to -11 degrees.  Had a tech here to check things out and it worked briefly after he left then went out again later that evening.  He arrived at 2pm and once temp went lower in the evening it was out again.  I had service earlier today while it was warmer and now here we sit again with no service.   Work from home, our internet and TV bill is $270/mnth (no extras) and with these issues this is unacceptable and I am beyond outraged!  I am now a week in trying to troubleshoot poor equipment and services.

@user_wk38j7 Thanks for posting and sharing your story. We can help make sure you have a stable connection. Is this still happening, or did you have another tech out to troubleshoot the line further?
