Internet Connection Unstable When Using Zoom

For a test, does a computer hardwired directly to the router / gateway device with an ethernet cable have the same problem ?

If the router is really far, then the wi-fi signal could be weak/intermittent.  The router being far would make me even more interested in trying a wired test. 

It's hard to debug these things when you don't even know whether it's the internet or the wi-fi.

I do find that Zoom (and maybe all/most video calling apps) are much more sensitive to the network than browsers, email, and even video streaming.  (You might expect video streaming to be about the same but because streaming doesn't require real-time response, the video can be buffered to a large degree making little interruptions of the network invisible.)

Hi, the router is really far, so I don't have the ability to hard wire in it.

Is there any other alternative way to fix this? Or is this a Zoom application problem?

There are other options. Google for WiFi repeaters / range extenders, WiFi mesh systems / pods, powerline ethernet adapters, MoCA adapters. Good luck !
