Internet Congestion and Bufferbloat makes online gaming hard

Have the xfinity gateway, with Download speed: up to 1000 Mbps, Upload speed: up to 150 Mbps. When I run a bufferbloat test I get a rating between c-f depending on the time. Along with speed tests that aren't good. This happens when other people in the house are using the network (one person streaming, or multiple people using google), but our plan should not cause this many issues. When playing online games the latency often spikes from 20 to 80 to 150 and then back down, sometimes going higher. This is all while ethernet using xfinity pods.

These are two tests run on two devices connected to ethernet only a few minutes apart. Is there something that can be done to fix this?

user_jji6g5 Have you tried relocating your modem/router to a more centrally located place within your home to see if your speeds stabilize while you are gaming?

It is in the most centrally located spot it could be, the only other spit with a coax plug is in a corner of the house.

Thanks for clarifying, user_jji6g5. Have you tried rebooting the modem manually or through our awesome Xfinity App? We also recommend checking the coaxial connection on both ends (wall plate and modem) to make sure the connection is tight and there's no damage to it. You can also check our "Tips for troubleshooting your Xfinity Internet connection" article for more information. Let us know if that helps!
