internet and wifi constantly dropping

The last 3 weeks the internet and wifi constantly dropping several times a day. App says no problems or outages and then claims i have higher speeds but all devices drop constantly. I work from home and paying for higher speed tier but service has been terrible. Customer service on the phone is a joke and I've wasted time and gotten "disconnected" a few times (by mistake im sure) when calling in to complain about it. then I have to start over again. ridiculous. what is happening?

-FYI did all necessary steps. rebooted, checked connections, etc. Been around long enough to do all that BEFORE you even call so stop making me do it every time i call in.

First. for a test, does a computer / device that is hardwired directly to the router / gateway device with an Ethernet cable have the same problem ?

With this test, we are trying to isolate this down to being either a WiFi-only problem or a problem with the general connection to the Comcast system, which would of course affect both. It's a good first step in troubleshooting before proceeding any further.

Ok, what do the modem's signal status values look like ? Try getting them here; http://192.168.100.1 or here http://10.0.0.1

Please copy all of the text in its entirety of the *Downstream Power Levels*, the *SNR's* (Signal to Noise Ratios), and the *Upstream Power Level* numbers and paste them into your next post.

What is the exact make and model number of the modem / gateway device ?

If this is a Comcast-rented gateway device, unless you previously changed them, try using admin for the default username and password for the password

If those don't work, look at the label on the bottom or back and see if the printed name and password will work.
