Intermittent MoCA connection problem
Hi,
I use Trendnet MoCA 2.5 adapters. Coax wiring in my house is fairly new with the exception of one stretch of cable going to one room, it's older but has been working ok. I have a PoE MoCA filter in place. All splitters are MoCA-rated to 2.5ish ghz. And there aren't many splitters, mostly home runs from the point of entry.
The issue: devices connected to the Trendnet adapters work fine for days - until they don't. No rhyme or reason. The MoCA and LAN lights remain on, just no internet connection all of a sudden. And it doesn't seem to come back once it has gone.
Devices such as laptops connected via Ethernet to the Trendnet adapters lose connectivity. So does a Google Nest Wifi Pro Wi-Fi point.
The modem is an Arria tg1682p. It's in bridge mode going to a Google Wifi Pro Router. All works great on that end.
Power cycling the Trendnet adapters usually helps reconnect the devices to the internet.
The setup is point of entry > POE MoCA filter > Splitter (to modem and two other rooms)
The cable that goes from the point of entry Splitter to the modem ends in another splitter (modem/MoCA adapter).
Any ideas....? Would a MoCA filter on the modem help?
Thanks in advance.
