intermittent internet

When I use my wireless laptop the internet goes down intermittently. The internet icon bars go up and down often. In fact while typing this the internet went down-- I have deleted browsing data and restarted many times--do I need a new modem or what? It is very annoying!!

Thank you for reaching out. I am sorry to hear this is happening with your laptop. Are you seeing the drop on all of your devices? Is it just the laptop? Are you using a VPN? @user_bw0035lm

I only have this laptop -- doesn't happen on my iPhone.  It started about 3 weeks ago and I need it to stop losing connection with sites intermittently -- thanks for helping!

@user_bw0035lm Please send us a direct message with your full name and the service address. We will want to run some test and troubleshooting to see what we are seeing on our end. 

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support: 
Click "Sign In" if necessary 
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging 
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon 
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there 
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list 
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line 
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window 
Press Enter to send it.
