Intermittent Connection, timeouts during ping tests on a hardwired connection, as well as on wifi.

Hi all. I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out in the hope that someone might have encountered a similar issue and can offer some guidance.

Background:

Over the last few months, I've been plagued by connectivity issues despite exhaustive efforts. I have a hardwired connection, and despite submitting 10 chat tickets, replacing Xfinity's modem with a new one they sent, and having a technician out four times, the problem persists. The line from the modem to the wall and from the wall to the outside drop has been replaced and thoroughly inspected, ensuring their integrity.

The Issue:

The crux of the matter lies in frequent timeouts that disrupt various activities requiring constant connectivity. These interruptions occur on a near-daily basis and cause everything to stutter or go down completely, ranging from Zoom meetings and business software to gaming and Wi-Fi-connected streaming and browsing. This happens across all devices, both hardwired and wifi. This is a new issue within the last few months where otherwise the service was fine.

Previous Attempts:

  • Submitted ~10 chat support tickets to resolve the issue over the course of 2 months or so.
  • Replaced Xfinity's modem with a new one they sent.
  • Had a technician out four times to inspect and fix anything they found, outside and inside. None of the fixes have made a difference.
  • Replaced the line from the modem to the wall and from the wall to the outside drop.
  • All the basic troubleshooting steps. (Removal of splitters, reseating cables, rebooting modem, etc.)

Any advice or thoughts you have are appreciated, and thanks for taking the time to read.

Attached are some examples of what a ping test looks like while the issue occurs: https://imgur.com/a/JjNxRTU

@user_yii7kq - depends how comfortable you are troubleshooting, you could try follow the steps in this Post or another webpage (a bit more technical) if you wish,

also your images aren't visible.

I believe this issue is out of my hands, unfortunately. This is something Xfinity will need to remedy. I've done all of the basic troubleshooting steps as mentioned in the OP.

I see them too;

But this is what I get when I click on them;

And no other options.

@user_yii7kq - all it shows that there is indeed some packet loss, but it does not show where... There is a better tool called WinMTR if you would like to try.

This is an idea for sure. However, I feel I have exhausted everything that can be done on my end. This is very much in the realm of Xfinity now, no?
