Intermittent Connection Drops Affecting Counter-Strike 2

I have continued to experience intermittent connectivity issues specifically while playing CS2. The issue presents as follows:

  • CS2 disconnects or lags out for 2–5 seconds, then resumes normally

  • This occurs roughly once every few hours, seemingly at random, but can occur at higher rates

  • Other internet usage, including streaming and browsing, is seemingly unaffected

  • Other online games I play do not show similar issues

  • Issue began occur the day I moved and started using Xfinity
  • Continuous ping test to Google DNS in CMD shows occasional drops/disconnect

Troubleshooting done so far:

  • Tested both Wi-Fi and Ethernet

  • Verified that my PC and personal hardware work properly on other networks

  • ISP speed and connectivity tests report no issues

  • Rebooted gateway multiple times

  • Tried Port Forwarding for CS2 - no change, lag persists
  • Changed from Xfinity DNS to Google DNS servers
  • 2 technicians have inspected hardware and reported no issues.

    • The second specialized technician later called me back saying he found an issue that could be causing the problem but the local infrastructure was operated/maintained by a different company. He said he put in a work order for the issue to be fixed but it may take up to a month. It has been several months and the issue persists.
