Interested in upgrading to X-1 Gig symmetric - confirming availability and pricing
Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my plan and hoping the support team can help me sort out availability, provisioning, and pricing.
I want to upgrade to X-1 Gig symmetric, as my upload speed needs have grown and the current 100 Mbps upload tier isn't keeping up.
My setup:
- Location: Seattle, WA 98102 (apartment)
- Current plan: 1 Gbps down / 100 Mbps up (5-Year Price Guarantee)
- Gateway: Xfinity XB10 in bridge mode (proactively shipped to me recently with an automated message about an eligible upgrade)
- Router: TP-Link Archer AX55
What I'd like help with:
- Confirm X-Class availability at my address. Per the FCC National Broadband Map, Comcast reports symmetric 2000/2000 Mbps service available at my exact address, and you've already shipped me an XB10, so it appears my node is X-Class qualified. Can you confirm and let me know which X-Class tiers are available?
- Retention pricing. I'm currently on a 5-Year Price Guarantee plan that I value, and I'd like to stay with Xfinity and upgrade rather than look elsewhere. What pricing options are available for X-1 Gig symmetric, ideally on a new 5-Year Guarantee?
- Provisioning verification. I've seen forum threads where customers switched to X-Class but the bootfile didn't update properly, leaving them stuck on asymmetric upload. What's the process to confirm provisioning is correct after the switch, and can you verify it directly on your end once the change is made?
Related context: A technician visited today and confirmed weak signal to my unit, which is why I'm currently only seeing ~50–60 Mbps upload against my provisioned 100 Mbps tier. There should be a work order open for line remediation. Can you confirm it's scheduled and make sure it's resolved as part of the X-Class transition? I'd like to fix the physical layer issue and switch plans in one coordinated workflow.
Happy to DM my full name and service address as soon as a rep replies. Thanks.
