Installing New Cable Modem without a Smartphone

Hello Xfinity Forum -

Is there any way to set up a new replacement (i.e. upgrade) cable modem on an existing home system without a smartphone? 

I received an email from Xfinity informing me that I should upgrade my cable modem from my current DOCSIS 3.0 unit to a DOCSIS 3.1 modem.  I would like to be able to install the new modem without having to buy a smartphone to do it.

Hello @user_zqdlgc, thanks for taking the time to post on our Xfinity Community Forums. While using the Xfinity App is the fastest and easiest way to activate a new modem, you can always reach out to us here when you are ready to activate, and we will gladly assist!

Hello XfinityAbel - Thank you for your response.  It is great to know that I don't have to get a smartphone to activate the modem.

Is there a more direct and timely method of making contact to accomplish the modem activation?  The forum is nice but it took two days to get a response.  I could not go that long waiting for the new modem to be provisioned since we use the internet for financial transactions.
