Increased Upload Speeds
I belive DOCSIS 3.1 can handle upload speeds of 1Gbps. Due to this, are there any plans to increase users' upload speeds across the board (and particularly for your highest 'modem' plan of Gigabit internet)? I love my 1000/40 connection, but the upload is still very slight in comparison and uploads take quite a while to co-workers; even for medium-sized files.
With everyone uploading video these days, it would seem that upload should be at least 10% of the download speed; an increase from the current +/- 5% that it is today for your subscribers. Perhaps 1000/100 for the Gigabit tier if the topology can support it? My girlfriend gets about 250/6 at her place, so perhaps these users could change to 250/25? I think it would make a real difference as video users are now strongly encroaching into the upload space that was previously only used for download negotiation for the most part. So I can upstream 4k video if I use 1/3 of my upload, but my girlfriend can't even do 1080p video if she is the only user on her network (well, maybe barely). As a note, I do pay for premium upload streaming services, but I know a lot of us are only able to upload 1080p/60fps en masse at this time... but that will change soon, I'm sure.
Thanks for all you do, I just think there is more of a need for upload than before. Giving users at least 10% of their download for the upload portion of their tier is likely doable for you w/o any engineering changes other than sync profiles, so I hope this is a step your company can take in the immediate future to help users connect and work without adding a lot of cost and technology changes for everyone.
