Incorrect Boot File XB8 Gateway

I have the incorrect bootfile on my XB8 gateway that was installed yesterday due to my apartment switching to a bulk plan.  I upgraded back to the 2Gbps plan from the community's 1Gbps plan and put my modem in bridge mode.  I've now discovered it's well known that the XB8 doesn't mesh well with the 2Gbps plan and will revert back to the old boot file.  I've been dealing with customer service nonstop, this is frustrating and I'm quite ready to switch providers after 5 years with Xfinity.
