I'M GOING TO LOSE MY JOB

No one will tell me if the internet issues I've experienced off and on since the day before Thanksgiving are planned maintenance that is ongoing, temporary, or part of an unknown issue.  Instead, I just get sent in circles.

I report an outage, then can't get a rep on the phone because there's an active outage so the phone and chat won't forward me.

I have to wait until the outage is resolved, then schedule a tech, who comes out and does some hocus hocus before assuring me the issue is resolved.

I have a few good days of service and then the cycle starts again.

I post on this forum, and get a nice message about another way to share by chat. . . . I spend 3 hours of my holiday trying to resolve this -- waiting hours between responses -- only to have someone tell me to unplug my system to reset.

Then guess what? I have 3 more outages today.

I'm an attorney who works from home, on video calls and workshops all day; and no one seems to care that I'm in danger of losing my new job if I can't get consistent internet.  

Yep, that's the worst of it.  Worse than the internet outages, it's the fact that NO ONE CARES.  They just keep sending us in circles like hamsters on a wheel.

And so I write for my own sanity.  Here.  On social media.  And quite frankly anywhere else where I can share the story of how one company can literally hold us hostage, especially for those of us (I suspect mostly in urban communities) who don't have fiber optic lines in our neighborhoods yet.
