I would like to add a MESH WiFi and move entry point of cable
Our cable comes into a room that is not our office, the TV is there but we have spotty wifi service in our upstairs offices. The house is brick and there are plaster walls between the router and our offices. I would like to have the cable brought in to a place closer to the offices, but still available to the TV. It seems MESH router is the answer. How do I do this? should I make an appt for an xfinity service person to come out, should I purchase the MESH router first? Is the cable that comes into the house compatible with a Netgear Nighthawk AX1800 (3-Pack)? thank you, I am trying to figure out the order of doing things to upgrade the wifi and make it accessible on three floors. thank you

Hello @user_f34484 , and thank you for reaching out to us about adding a mesh router to your system. A mesh router system won't need more cable as only the main router connects to the modem, and the others get their main signal from that. If you are using our gateway, you would just need to put it in bridge mode to use the router system which can be done through the My Account app no problem. You could also purchase Xfi pods which are a mesh system that work with our gateway not in bridge mode (another option) if you like. You wouldn't need a tech for anything though as this can all be done easily through the app, and you will get instructions with any mesh system you buy on how to set up the router system. We are always happy to assist you here as well should you have any trouble with changing the setting for our gateway.
