I was told my Netgear CM3000 cant' deliver 1.2 GB speeds in my area, yet it is listed as compatible
Recently bought a Netgear CM3000 Cable Modem to take advantage of higher speeds in my plan, replacing my old Netgear CM1200. No matter what I do I cannot pass 950 Mbps (same speeds as my old CM1200). After chatting with 3 different agents for almost an hour being dropped from one agent to another, the last agent told me my CM3000 "is not compatible" with 1.2GB speeds in my area (Miami, FL), and I should get a CM2000 instead. I purchased this modem because it is listed as next gen modem and as compatible for my higher speed.
The last agent apparently got offended when I said the modem is listed on Xfinity's site and dropped me w/o explanation. One hour of my time mostly wasted
Can someone from Comcast can please clarify? Thanks, zip code is 33134

Yes. It's compatible. Is there a router in the mix here ? Make and model number ? If so, for a test, remove it and connect a computer directly to the CM3000 with a Cat6 or greater Ethernet cable and see what speed you get. Be sure that the computer's network adapter has a 2.5 gig or greater Ethernet port.
