Taking it to your local Xfinity store to be swapped out for a newer model would be the fastest option, or ship it back for free via UPS and have them ship you another one.
Hello NayeliCn! Thanks for reaching out to us on our community Forums for help with a new modem. I hope that you are having a fantastic week so far.
If you lease a modem/gateway from Xfinity it's easy to exchange your modem at a Xfinity store as @EG mentioned (Thanks EG!) But keep in mind Xfinity will send you a notification when it is time to upgrade your leased equipment as well. You can also check xfinity.com/equipmentupdate to see if you are eligible for an upgrade.
If you own your modem we recommend only purchasing from a known retailer and check to make sure that the device you are purchasing is compatible with your service. It's easy to find a compatible device here.
Are you having any issues with your internet connection that is making you think that a new modem is needed?
