I need to talk to an actual agent

I would love to be able to call and talk to someone real but all I get is the robot. Even after the robot says it can connect me with a live service agent it just sends me a link to talk to the digital version of itself. Overall I just want to know if i can connect my xfi modem without the coax cord, as I have an ethernet cable that i could use to connect it if that would work.

No. The modem must be connected to a live coax cable feed from the Comcast system.

Hello @user_m43dxl Thank you so much for reaching out to us for help on our Xfinity Forums! I'm sorry that you have not been able to connect with a live agent by phone. I know automation is fantastic for so many things, but not when you need an answer to a question like this. 

@EG, is correct, the modem would still need to connect to our network through a coaxial cable connection. The ethernet connection is great for your computer or router, but the modem would still need to be on our network via coaxial connection.
