I need to reset my DNS server

I used VPN to watch Netflix, but after I turned it off I got Netflix Error M7111-5059 (https://help.netflix.com/en/node/53047).

I restarted the WiFi router many times but the issue still persists. I contacted Netflix and they had me go to https://fast.com/# to locate my service. Both Client and Servers are in the US, no other countries listed.

They said that I had to contact Xfinity to reset/switch my DNS server back somehow.

user_izw9cf Hello and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community forms. I understand you're seeing Netflix error M7111-5059 after using a VPN. This often happens because residual DNS settings are confusing Netflix about your location, even after restarting your gateway.

You don't need us to reset your DNS. You can fix this immediately by flushing the DNS cache on your viewing device (PC/Mac). On Windows, use the command ipconfig /flushdns in the Command Prompt, then reboot.

If the error persists, manually change your device's DNS settings to a trusted public server like Google ($8.8.8.8$ and $8.8.4.4$). This forces your system to resolve your location correctly.

Pleas let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
