I have an Arris S33 but upload is still 40 Mbps
Subject sort of says it all. I'm getting about 1Gbps down but only 40 Mbps upload. The S33 is on your list of supported modems. My internal network is 1Gbps so I'm not expecting to get the 2Gbps download yet.
What gives?
BTW: I note someone else had this exact issue posted here. unfortunately, unlike most forums, the question was taken and presumably solved, offline. So I've no idea how it was solved.

The S33 is not compatible with their new Next Gen / mid-split /enhanced upload speeds. These are the only third-party / retail purchased devices that are currently compatible;
As are their XB6, XB7, and XB8 rented gateway devices.
