I have 4 computers hard wired (ethernet) to my comcast router, but three connect to my SSID and one connects to an XFSETUP one

Subject somewhat says it all. I pay for gig ethernet and the 3 computers that connect and show my SSID as the network speedtest's around 950-1050mbs. The one that identifies to XFSETUP still gets internet, but taps out at around 90 mbs. Not sure when this started as its used by my wife who isn't internet hungry.

How do I fix this? We've rebooted the xfinity router and the computers. unplugged and plugged back in the cord. This just doesn't make sense to me.

Your post is a bit confusing. Please clarify. You wrote: " I have 4 computers hard wired (ethernet) to my comcast router,".

First. If they are hardwired via ethernet, why would WiFi matter ?

user_jfb71 Have you tried any troubleshooting through our Xfinity app? It's a great tool to use.

Try making sure WiFi is disabled on that 4th computer, the one that connects to XFSETUP. It sounds like it is trying to use the WiFi as it's main internet connection. Usually computers are smart enough to tell that the ethernet is the better one to use, but not always. Hope this helps!

Have you solved this?  I have exactly the same issue but only one computer.  Ethernet shows as XFSETUP-1409 and gets very erratic speeds, usually under 400 MBPS, while wifi runs 800-900.  I have the XB7 Gateway (which has one weird, inconsistent indicator light, BTW; when the unit boots up fully, there's no light on at all).  Other Netgear and TPLink gear I used to have use the xxSETUPxx network names as temporary, and switch to a permanent SSID when the initialization is complete.  Sounds like you got this on 3 out of 4.

Please reply if you have found a solution.
