I getting tired of this message and I am so close to switching to Fiber internet.
when i first moved to my new place, the internet was perfectly fine for about 1 year and then more drops during internet usage. My upload power dropped from 38dBmV to 26dBmV. So I did some research like anyone would and bought a 8Db attenuator Pad on amazon and it seemed to help a bit but I'm still having issues with xbox online gameplay. As much as xfinity promotes gaming online, from my experience I think its terrible. Most of my friends that I play with all have fiber optic internet and they seems to be enjoying their xbox, as for my xbox its just a paper weight doing nothing.
I have good download and upload speeds, and never really drop connection. The only problem I have is playing my Xbox online with friends. During online gameplay my upload speeds are terrible 1-5mbs. I have updated my firmware on my modem ran speed tests and a ping test and my power levels are in range after the fact I installed the 8Db Pad. As a customer should never go through this, especially since we are paying customers. For example your cell phone provider starts dropping more and more calls, you're going to switch to a new provider, right? Well that's how I am feeling right now.
I don't know what is causing this error that I'm getting "Critical (3) Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;
I have googled it and I see other people with the same issues and heard of stories where xfinity tech don't really solve anything, so xfinity customers are stuck with this issue for months on end. Does anyone have any recommendations for this issue? Thanks in advance!!

You have fiber available and are still on this DOCSIS garbage? Run, don't walk, get that fiber. Maybe if enough people do that Xfinity will be forced to provide a reasonable amount of upstream bandwidth, heck, maybe even a symmetrical connection like fiber.

Hello, @kP700, thanks for taking the time to reach out to our forum for some help and relief with your upload issues. That was a great message to let me know exactly what you're going through, so thank you for taking the time to type out those details. I completely get being annoyed and looking to make a change when your service is failing when you want to enjoy it the most. I'm not a big gamer, but my brother is, so I can imagine what you've been going through. Typically, with upstream power signals, the lower the better, and you should be below 54 dBmV. I promise I will hang in there with you to get to the bottom of this, but I will need to run a few more troubleshooting steps and ask a few more clarifying questions. Are you able to provide the following signal stats for me: Upstream SNR, Upstream (TX) Transmit Power, Upstream (Rx) Power?

The poster has access to their modem or gateway's Upstream (TX) Transmit Power, but not Upstream SNR or Upstream (Rx) Power. Those are read at Comcast's CMTS and not reported back to the customer. (They could be loaded into one of the "My Account" pages, but to my knowledge have never been). We know the power level our modems are transmitting, but have no idea what is being received at Comcast. How would we??? You at Comcast OTOH have access to all of those parameters.

My posts keep getting marked private without warning or notification
totally not my fault but sorry about that!
Xfinity runs fiber to all of their nodes in the street and then nodes branch out to homes via coax cables.
At present they have a large customer base so they have no reason to run new lines.
When the service works Xfinity's max download speed is 1200Mbps with 35Mbps up.
With fiber internet you should expect 900Mbps down with 800Mbps up.
Maybe more.
Fiber is more stable than coax. I personally think the Gigabit service is
something coax lines were not designed for but the service is being offered
as a shortcut to compete with fiber providers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not official Xfinity support but they can't or won't help me either so
I'm offering support to all other cases hoping someone looks at mine.

Mine are being marked as private as well. I guess they don't want people to see the truth.
Google fiber 1000/1000 = 2000 megabits total for $70/mo
Xfinity giga 1200/35 = 1235 megabits total for $90/mo (promo)
Google = 3.5cents per megabit.
Xfinity = 7.3cents per megabit.
See the problem? We're being ripped off. Over paying for a inferior service.
I'll wait for them to mark this as private as well so nobody can see it...

I'm on the Comcast Gigabit plan, and the 35mbps upload speed is GARBAGE.
It takes me 3-4 days to do "nightly" backup.
I pay 260+ a month for Gigabit + 5 static IPs.
ATT has 1g/1g symmetrical fiber + 5 static IPs for 150 a month.
The ATT rep has already told me they are coming to my ZIP code soon... I can't wait.
