Huge jump in usage

We have exceeded our 1.2 TB monthly internet data usage cap for the first time ever, with no different or unique activities that I am aware of. How do I determine what is eating up all of our data?

Hi there, @tomdean128! Thanks for reaching out about your data usage for the month. We offer 1 courtesy month when if you go over, we will cover the charge. I can understand your concerns with wanting to track down the device in question.

The Xfinity app's "People" feature allows you to organize connected devices by user and view details about their online activity, like time spent online and active time limits (if configured). You can create custom person profiles and also utilize default groups like "Household" and "Guest". While you can see a user's overall online time, Xfinity does not track individual device data usage. Most devices will have a data counter where it shows up much data is being used if you want to individually check them.

Are you streaming any video in 4K?
Have you changed your WiFi password or checked the Xfinity app to ensure no devices you don't recognize are connected?

Please also note that sending unsolicited private messages to myself or any other user is a direct violation of our forum guidelines. You must first create a Public post requesting assistance, and once a Comcast verified employee responds and asks for a private message to be sent, you can then proceed with doing so. Please keep that in mind for the future.
