How to stop automatic network "management?"
Now that comcast is "automatically managing" my network my wifi speeds are garbage. It was fine before that. I don't appreciate automatic network degradation in an attempt to sell me wifi extenders for which I previously had zero need. How do I disable this?

The best advice in your situation is to buy your own equipment. I also recommend buying separate modem/router. That way you will have complete control over your home network, as well as saving the monthly rental fee for the hardware that xfinity is 'leasing' to you. I recommend separate devices because you can upgrade just the device you need to upgrade when the time comes. I recommend getting a modem that can handle faster downloads than you currently are allotted; that way you can move up a couple of tiers if you want to. Just make sure that the hardware you buy is on the xfinity list of approved devices; https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices/#auth . You can also find more information about using your own purchased equipment here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/list-of-approved-cable-modems .
