The two WiFi bands have recently been combined into one with the Comcast gateway devices. If you are not using any Xfi Pods, you can separate the 2.4 and the 5.0 bands and give them two different broadcast names / SSID's;
It no longer allows the option to separate them. It says they are “managing it for me,” but I just had an electrician cut a hole in my house to install a camera over the driveway, and it requires a 2.4 gHz network, will not connect to the mishmash wifi I have, and phone support basically told me I was SOL and hinted that even if I disconnect my equipment and take it back to a store, they may not give me a replacement so I can start over — or maybe that a replacement won’t solve the problem. So useless camera and wasted money? Or maybe just see what I can get from somewhere else?
