How to prevent a previous device from connecting to wifi

I allowed a neighbor to connect their laptop to my wifi about a year ago. Now, every time they are in their living room (which is the room closest to my house) their laptop connects to my wifi. If I click "forget device" in the Xfinity app, will this prevent them from reconnecting?

The best thing that you can do is to change your WiFi network security password / network key.

Thanks for taking the time to post on our Xfinity Communities Forums page, @watchesto0muchtv. You can pause the device using the Xfinity app, it will still connect but will not have internet/network access. Your network settings (Wi-Fi name & password) are saved on the laptop, so your neighbor would have to delete your network settings from their laptop under their network settings. You can also change your network name and or password, but then would have to update all your wireless devices to reconnect to the internet.
