How to keep a device on 2.4ghz

The xfi modem router doesn't allow you to separate the 2.4 from the 5 with different SSID's.  So, my RIng doorbell moves back and forth both channels.  It works much better at 2.4 ghz but I can't find anyway to keep it there.  The device doesn't have a setting and neither does the xfi router admin screens.   Does anyone have any ideas ?

Today the option came back. So I now have all my security on 2.4 and phones / iPads on 5.0

I have tried the Xfi app and also connecting to the modem from my desktop . It shows both bands, and I can disable , but I cannot change ssid for just one. The docs say that is so the router will move a device if one band has problems .
