How to Activate Storm-Ready from Laptop

I am trying to activate my Storm-Ready from my laptop.  I only have an iPhone 7 so I cannot use the Xfinity app.  Thanks in advance for your help :)

Hello, user_l2u4ou! Thanks for reaching out to us on the Xfinity Forums! We appreciate you picking up the Story-Ready device as it's an amazing extension of your network! Keeping you online during a power outage or acting as wifi extender while in normal working mode! At this time, it can only be fully activated and set up through the Xfinity app which should be able to run on your iPhone 7 as long as you have iOS 14 or higher. Doing a quick search on the internet, it looks like the current version of iOS is up to 15.8.1. To check to make sure you have the latest iOS offering try the following steps:

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap Software Update

Please let us know if you still need assistance if you have the latest iOS for your iPhone 7.

No that is not good news I have 15.8.6 and need at least 16.0 to download the app !  That is what the message says each time I try to access and download the Xfinity app.  My iPhone tells me I have the most up to date software for my iPhone 7.

@user_l2u4ou - According to my research, and current requirements in the App Store, you need iOS 15.0 or later to download the Xfinity App on an iPhone. Also, the current version of iOS available for the iPhone 7 is listed as iOS 15.8.3. While the iPhone 7 no longer receives updates for new iOS versions, it still receives security updates. My best recommendation is to contact Apple support regarding the app download and installation issue since your phone should allow you to have it. Please let us know if you're able to receive help from them!
