How do I keep Xfinity updates that are going out every couple of hours from bricking my modem?

Xfinity is pushing out faster speeds in my area and it keeps bricking my modem. I have to factory reset it and redo all the passwords and WiFi names before I can get service back. The Xfinity tech said he had to provision it and after that, I should have no trouble. Well, it's been bricked 4 times since then in a day's time. It's really, really annoying. I wish Xfinity wasn't so incompetent with their updates. How can I keep them from bricking my modem every few hours? I'm working hard to not use a string of obsenities here. It's maddening that Xfinity doesn't care how much havok they cause.

Hallen  Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us here on our Community Forum. We do push firmware updates to our modems, but it's certainly not every few hours. We are sorry to hear of the lengths you've had to try to prevent this from happening. We'll be happy to investigate this further. Please send a Direct Message with your full name and address. Here are instructions on how to send a DM in case you need them:

 Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Message" icon (upper right corner of this page)
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send your message
