How do I force the XB8 Modem/Router to use the Wifi6E 6Ghz band for my computer?

I have a Wifi6E capable computer and the xb8 modem/router from Xfinity which is also Wifi6E capable. How do I force the computer to use Wifi6E? When I look at the connected devices under the gateway control page I see it is connected to the 5GHz band. I also checked and my computer is currently running WPA3-Personal so that isn't an issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
