How do I find out if the Hitron Coda modem is compatible with my plan?
What I'm looking for in a modem:
- $120/max
- Cable modem only
- no wifi, no voice [Edited: "Profanity"], no frills
- Supports the modest upload/download speeds my plan accommodates
- Web based admin interface
- More than 1 Ethernet port
After doing some diligent research against xfinity approved compatible modems, the only modem I've found that matches up with what I'm looking for and does not break the bank is the Hitron Coda. While this particular model is the bottom of the line in the Coda series, it still packs a serious wallop for those of us on xfinity's mid-range speed plans. I'm not planning on upgrading my plan to match potential speeds of any new modem purchase, nor am I wanting to do the reverse.
Modem in question
Hitron Coda
Product webpage (www.hitrontech.com)
My current xfinity service plan
Connect More Plan
Download speeds: up to 400 Mbps
Upload speeds: up to 35 Mbps
FWIW, I'm already aware of the 'non-Xfinity compatible modem' list and I've researched each of those devices (listed below) having the specifications that matchup with what I'm looking for.
- Netgear CBR750
-
Netgear CM2050V
-
Netgear CM2500
-
HitronTechnologies CODA56
-
ARRIS S34
-
Ubiquiti UCI
Can anybody from Xfinity provide* some insight on how should go about finding out whether or not the Hitron Coda modem will work with my plan?
*Please note:
- I've already researched the modems in the 'compatibility' list
- I am not planning on nor will I consider upgrading or downgrading my service.
Thanks in advance.
