Hotspot Broadcast

Results of a Wifi analyzer identied what appears to be the hoptspot broadcasting on both the 2.5 and 5 Ghz networks with a no name SSID even though this feature has been requested and is indicated as being disabled.  I have manually changed the channel of the local network which in turns changes the channel of the no name SSID. Also the MAC of the no name SSID is identical to the local network MAC except for the first two digits which appears to indicate the source to be the gateway.

Is there anything  I can to to disable the hotspot from broadcasting? Does this require technical assistance and whom should i contact to get this resolved?

It doesn't matter whether or not you subscribe to their security system. Their policy is universal.

The "Hidden" broadcast (SSID) is used for interfacing with the Comcast home security systems, and it can not be disabled.

Thanks EG but I don’t subscribe to the home security. Why couldn’t it be disabled if it’s unnecessary?

Thanks again but I think I need to investigate this further. This hidden ssid appears to be impacting the signal strength on the associated frequencies.
