Horrible lag, drops,ping mainly during congested times since my area got an "infrastructure" update

​Need some help desperately. Been in my home for 6 years. First 5 years did not have a single hiccup. Last year there was an infrastructure update to my area and its been down hill since. I mainly game/stream and use all apps to watch tv. Mainly during the congested hours on week nights and weekends I will randomly have these ping, drops, and lag that pretty much make most online play of any sort useless. Its so random as I will have a weekend/week night of no issues but sometimes I would have multiple days in a row of just gosh awful internet its just so all over the place. I'm posting tonight as a cry for help as its horrible to pay for a service that's so unreliable and tonight it has been at its worse for the week with other days sprinkled in just not as bad. I've had in home techs come out and change line in my home. Come back out again and test signal obviously during times that there are no issues. The last tech told me "I will send this to my supervisor" which I would have hoped to escalate my issues to maybe a line tech or some kind of help but I've yet to hear anything. I'm stuck with xfinity as there isn't really another provider in my section of town but if there was I would be gone in a heartbeat as I'm at that point. I've eliminated any kind of chance being my owned hardware on my end as I tried with xfinity gateway as well and still had issues. Currently have an arris s33 docsis 3.1 modem and asus rt-ax82u ax5400 router. I'm at the point that this has to be something between me and the hub or at the hub itself. ​
