Hitron CODA, upload speeds intermittently fluctuating
I ran into some information that suggested I contact the Xfinity Digital Care team. From what I understand, they have access to tier-2 backend tools that can fix a specific Hitron CODA provisioning glitch.
I recently upgraded from a Motorola MB7220 modem to a Hitron CODA modem. I switched my Internet plan from the legacy 300 "Connect More" tier to the modern 300 tier. The modern 300 tier is listed to have typical download speeds of 352 Mbps and typical upload speeds of 117 Mbps. While my download speeds are as expected, my upload speeds are intermittently fluctuating between 20 Mbps and 120 Mbps.
I've contacted several Xfinity live agents who claim they have provisioned my modem with the latest bootfile and sent refresh signals. When I power cycle the modem, the upload speed initially hits 120 Mbps, as expected, but eventually degrades.
I've inspected my modem's upstream overview dashboard, and under DOCSIS mode column, ATDMA is listed across all channels. I was expecting, with the latest bootfile, for it to list OFDMA, indicating that it's using the new next-gen/mid-split profile. Some information suggested that my CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) profile cache be cleared.
Any thoughts? Please advise.
Thanks.

Hello, user_8684so! Thank you for choosing Xfinity and joining us here on the forums! I completely understand wanting the flexibility to choose what works best for your home setup, and I’m glad you’re exploring your options. You absolutely have the choice to purchase and use your own modem or gateway instead of renting one from Xfinity. At the same time, I want to make sure you’re aware that the Xfinity Wireless Gateway is designed to provide strong coverage, fast speeds, and even access to a secure home WiFi hotspot, which many customers find really convenient.
If you’re thinking about using your own equipment, the most important next step is to make sure it’s fully compatible. You can do that by visiting the My Device Info page and signing in to see personalized recommendations. If your Hiltron listed? Once you check, let me know—I'm happy to help you review your options and make sure everything will work smoothly for you! Please be reminded that sending unsolicited Direct Messages to an Official Employee of the Xfinity Community Forum is a violation of Forum Guidelines. In the future, we ask that you please find the most appropriate public board for your question type and post it there. If needed, we may invite you to send us a Direct Message. This is just a heads-up for next time, and I look forward to helping out here.
