Hitron Coda 56 not hitting 1 Gbps download speed

When I was using X1, I had no issues with my internet speeds—downloads were around 1.2 Gbps and uploads were 36 Mbps. I was using my own Netgear CM1000 modem.

Now that I’ve switched to X2, my upload speed has increased to 300 Mbps, but my download speed has dropped to 600 Mbps. Additionally, I’m unable to access the GUI for my Hitron modem. Based on what I’ve read in the forums, it seems Xfinity needs to push firmware version 7.3.5.0.1b2 or later.

Hello Husky21, it sounds like you've done some excellent troubleshooting already, and I appreciate you bringing this to our attention through the Xfinity Community Forums. It's definitely not the experience we want you to have with your new X2 service. Seeing a drop in your download speed after an upgrade can be frustrating, especially when you were consistently getting faster speeds with your previous setup. You're right on track with the firmware information you've found. From what you've described, it does sound like your Hitron Coda 56 modem might need a firmware update to reach its full potential with the X2 service and achieve those gigabit download speeds. In most cases, your Hitron Coda 56 modem will automatically check for and receive firmware updates from the Xfinity network when they are available. This usually happens during the modem's boot-up process. If you have already done this please send a direct message with your full name and address so I can look into this issue.  We're committed to ensuring you get the speeds you're paying for with your X2 service.
