High Upload Latency

Hi all,

For the past couple of months I've been experiencing significant lag / packet bursts during online gaming. I've spoken to customer service multiple times and they have been unable to help. I've restarted the routers and replaced cables. This seems to happen intermittently during the day. My ping in online games will range from low 40s to high 800s.

I live in a household with my wife and we don't have too many devices connected to our network.

Per a speedtest, my download speed latency is low but upload speed latency is in the high 300s.

I have no issues with download or upload speed.

Can someone please help?

Thank you for reaching out to us here at the Xfinity Community Forums @household156 . I appreciate all the details you've provided so far about the symptoms of the upload latency issues you've been experiencing and the troubleshooting steps that have already been attempted. Both are a great help in narrowing down the probable cause of the problem!

You mentioned you have no issue with upload or download speed, but specifically with online gaming. Does the issue persist on specific game servers or on a certain device only?

@XfinityShaina Hello thanks for replying. This is not specific to one game or device. Here are recent ping tests I ran and you can clearly see latency spikes in all of them.

@household156 Did you ever find a solution to your problem? I seem to be having the same issue.

@user_1d7ee1

Please create a new topic of your own here on this board detailing your issue. Thanks. The original poster has not returned. 6-month-old dead thread is now being closed.

For future reference, it is better to submit your own post as it creates a ticket to get help, and posting on an old thread can delay getting help
