High latency/routing issue to Riot Games server (Valorant NA-east)

Hello,

I've noticed my ping in Valorant has rinse from ~20-30 ms to ~40-60 ms. I ran a traceroute and it showed my traffic being routed from Virginia -> atlanta -> dallas before getting to the server which caused the added latency. I'm on na-east and wifi connection so i believe this is a routing issue on the network side.

Thank you for reaching out to us @user_t2dgpw! Are you noticing ping issues on other games? Are you able to test the ping on a hardwired connection using an ethernet cable?

Are you noticing ping issues on other games? Short answer is yes, long answer is it all of the latency for everything i did went up to about double of what it used to be, then it dropped, when i did a wifi speed test it had shown i had a 32-35 ping to their washington severs, before my ping went up a couple weeks ago it used to be 9-12.

On wired connection, the ping for the wifi speed test shows 23 ping, and on valorant it shows 28-33

Hi there thank you so much for this update. When you game, we do not control which server you connect to as it is done automatically. The games will connect to the closest server.

After contact the game's server customer support ticket system, they said that the issue is with my ISP's (xfinity) packet routing. If you could look into it or if you need a tracert from me to see that can also be arranged.

@user_t2dgpw

Are you actually experiencing performance problems, or just focusing on the numbers ?

I am experiencing performance problems, sometimes when im just moving around like i normally would i start rubberbanding backwards and when i jump the jumps fail to occur on server side and on client side i still do the animation of jumping but throughout all of that animation the server is resisting my ability to jump.
