High jitter / Latency issues while playing FPS games online – Issue STILL Unresolved
Previous Thread Reference: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/high-jitter-latency-issues-while-playing-gps-games-online/6a4871dddae4694352d4de78?commentId=6a60159ae768fbe2863dc254&replyId=6a635f70b3ed1847a0fc706a
Updating my previous comment regarding the recommended network adapter fixes (Roaming Aggressiveness, MIMO Power Save Mode, Transmit Power adjustments) and router replacement: the issue is not resolved.
While those local configuration changes and the new gateway provided temporary relief for about two weeks, the extreme jitter, high latency, and packet loss during competitive online games (specifically CS2) have returned. Over the past week, the connection quality has degraded back to unusable levels.
Current Network Status & Findings:
Intermittent Node/Line Instability: System performance varies dramatically day-to-day (one stable day followed by unplayable jitter the next), pointing directly to local node congestion, signal degradation, or unaddressed line noise outside the home rather than local PC hardware configurations.
Control Testing: The issue remains exclusive to the Xfinity connection. Connecting the same setup to a T-Mobile mobile hotspot results in zero jitter spikes or sudden packet drops, confirming the local rig is operating normally.
Technician Visit: A technician previously inspected the local drop line and replaced the gateway, but signal instability on the neighborhood tap/node level persists.
At this stage, client-side troubleshooting on my end is completely exhausted. If Xfinity network engineers cannot escalate this to tier-2/line support to resolve the upstream noise, signal level variations, or node capacity issues causing these latency spikes, I will be forced to cancel my service immediately and switch providers.
I am requesting an immediate escalation to a senior network technician to monitor the line stability at the tap level.

Welcome back to the forum @Asyd. Sorry to hear that the jitter and packet loss have returned to unusable levels after those initial fixes and router replacement seemed to give you some temporary relief.
If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.
To send a Direct Message:
Ensure you are logged in
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
A "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.
You can see how to send a direct message here, Direct Message Within The Forum.
