Hidden Wi-Fi Networks in Bridge Mode

Like other customers have complained about in the past on this help forum:

My XB8 is in bridge mode, but is still emitting 'hidden' Wi-Fi signals at maximum TX power. I have no access to disable the Wi-Fi radios in my device completely. I have read other posts of customers reaching out to Tier 3 support in order to get all of its Wi-Fi radios turned off, which I tried to do. However, getting in touch with some one who is Tier 3 and understands my problem has proven to be impossible.

Can anyone here help?

iLoveFastInternet Thanks for reaching out! It sounds like the Xfinity WiFi hotspot is still turned on, or was enabled when you placed the Gateway into bridge mode. The WiFi hotspot has to be turned off, or disabled before the Gateway goes into bridge mode.

@iLoveFastInternet

Those hidden network broadcasts are used for the WiFi interfacing with their home security systems. They can't be disabled by an end user. They might be able to be disabled by Comcast employees, but I'm not certain. What say you @XfinityMartyR ??? Or any Comcast employee that knows ???
