HELP! packet loss /ping spikes and download drops on new router

so recently i decided to upgrade from my 100mbs plan and get 500; and when i did that i had to use a new router that xfinity provided me because the one i was using was outdated i believe i have the xfinity xb6 (the gray obelisk looking one) my speeds are basically cut in half and every few minutes i say about ten to 12 or so ill have lag spikes, and packet loss and ill start rubberbanding and full on lagging for a good 20-25 seconds. and when i download games or anything ill have like 150mbps and itll go to 0 for about 10 seconds in about a 3 minute interval. if anyone has a fix or solution or this issue please let me know because its bugging me so bad and preventing my productivity

I have the gig plan on the xfi gatway.

I have good download 600+ mbps and ok upload 60+ mbps during tests. My ping spikes every few seconds and hits a high of over 600ms. I am using 1 device to play videogames at 2am. If this cannot be resolved I will 100% say xfinity is not a gamers internet by any means and pointless to have if that's what you use it for. Games constantly lag with ping spikes, latency issues and disconnection issues.

Run a pingplotter test to see where you are losing packets. This is also happening to me and I'm losing packets at one IP but it seems like they have no idea how to fix it. Somehow a service tech is supposed to be able to fix a server hundreds of miles away at my house

@Xantoszz12 I hardly ever use the computer I use my ps5 and my phone for internet. Unfortunately pingplotter is for the computer it seems and that doesn't help in my situation. I know xfinity can fix the issue because I called about this the first day I set up internet with them because of the same issue. We went through all the obvious steps of trying to counter it as if it was something on my end and finally was told to wait an hr and they will "boost" signal to me and magically it was fixed. Now about 5 days later it's happening again. This is tiresome but xfinity is the only internet I will be able to get at my new house in a month so I'm sort of at a loss. Seems as if it's deal with the constant waste of time dealing with an issue that is never ending or quit gaming.

Seeing as how many people have the same issue all over the u.s. for so many years [Edited: "Solicitation"]
