HELP! MY IP ADDRESS SAYS IM IN GERMANY!!!

On google, it says my xfinity ip address is in germany so im getting german ads, german results, its driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I havent done anything . IM IN THE USA!!

Hi there @user__89, I can certainly understand how frustrating it would be to have your internet traffic showing up in Germany when you are here in the USA. That would drive me nuts too!

One common workaround is to unplug your modem for at least 30 seconds to a minute and then plug it back in. This might force our system to assign you a new IP address, which hopefully will have the correct location data.

It's not likely unless the modem is unplugged for several hours, or perhaps several days. Comcast/Xfinity's residential IP addresses are "sticky dynamic": https://www.google.com/search?q=sticky+dynamic+ip+address
