HELP ! Lost access to XB8 admin UI at 10.0.0.1

I setup my gateway a while ago in bridge mode. I wanted to check the modem statistics today, and saw the following message.

I found the page at https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/admin-tool-access that explains the need to re-enable it.

However, I'm stuck at step 2. There is no "View WiFi equipment" for me to click in the "Wifi" tab of the app.

I have spent an hour on chat with 3 different support agents who are utterly useless. All they can do is tell me to follow this script, which does not match what I see in the app.

Is there anyone who can actually resolve this ?

...  bridge mode ...

When the gateway is in bridge mode, most of the app's Wifi options will be inaccessible. So you need to take the device out of bridge mode. But the geniuses that set this up didn't provide for that, so you'll have to factory reset the gateway to clear bridge mode. Once back in router mode, the app's Wifi options will return. Then you can use the app to re-enable Admin Tool access. Then (pant, pant) you'll be able to put the device back in bridge mode.

Admin Tool access should persist across resets, but will be cleared if the gateway is factory reset again.

@BruceW The problem turned out to be on Comcast's side. After nearly 2 hours in chat, they determined that I had multiple Comcast accounts, somehow, despite having been at the same address for 15 years. This caused their stupid app not to show the gateway at all in the Wifi tab. And thus I couldn't re-activate the admin interface. I don't believe factory resetting it would have caused it to show up.  What eventually did was unlinking the inactive account. This took a very long time, because support's pre-written script for this process is completely wrong and does not match how one actually does this in the app. I finally was able to unlink it through the web site. It was very painful, as the site was taking 1 min + between clicks, and it took way too many clicks to find it.
