Going on 6 Days of Evening Outages
Starting last Saturday, I've been having intermittent internet issues most evenings. I've done everything I can to diagnose, but the automated outage report provides no useful information. No estimated time of resolution (just "as soon as possible"), no acknowledgement of a 6-day window being more than just a temporary service outage, and not even a single text of service being restored. I need to have a useful status of the situation; is this going to continue indefinitely?
Troubleshooting Information:
- I'm hardwired to my Netgear CM700, experience no internet issues during the day, and have validated that there is no packet loss from my computer to the modem, only past that point.
- I've restarted my router and modem multiple times during the interruptions, and checked to ensure the coaxial cable is securely fastened at the modem, wall socket, and back of the wall socket.
- Repeated pings to comcast.net (n>100) show an average of 25% packet loss during these outages.
- My modem is unable to display the logs if it's been up for some time, I'm assuming due to the high volume of error messages. As soon as it reboots I begin receiving numerous errors, e.g.

Closing the loop; I had to drive to an Xfinity store to actually talk to a person and request a technician come out, but when they did they found a bad splitter in the junction box and replaced it.
