Gigabit internet

Hello,

I recently got gigabit internet and have the XB7 modem. Speed test with cat6 cable on the 2.5g bps port and still only getting 920-930mbps Download even though when I run the test on xfi it shows I’m getting 1300-1400 to the modem. Then when I run a speed test on ps5 instead of pc I get 700-800 download. Any help would be appreciated.

@EG in the video he doesn’t talk about it, but it does say I. The Ethernet section “note:Due to Ethernet overhead actual download speeds are limited to 940mbps with hardwired connection “

why would they do that and leave 2-300 mbps on the table?

That statement applies to devices that have only a 1 gigabit (10/100/1000) ethernet port. That video was made before 2.5 gigabit ports were introduced.

Does the device / computer that you are testing with have a greater than a 10/100/1000 ethernet port ?

I am having similar issues. This is suppose to be xfinity's latest and greatest. It shouldn't matter if your using ethernet or wifi, speeds should be what you sign up for.
