Since we don't know what gateway model you have now, we can't say. But https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/broadband-gateways-userguides lists all the gateways. The speeds they can handle are shown following the "Maximum data throughput" heading.

Note that "1000gigs" is not a speed Comcast/Xfinity offers. The max is 10 Gbps ("Gigabits per second").

user_qicryb Good morning! Thank you for reaching out to our Xfinity Forums. Yes, we can help you upgrade your modem, you can also swap it out at your local Xfinity Service Center. If you would like to have us ship you one, please send a Direct Message with your name and service address.

Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Message" icon Click the "New message" (pen and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
A "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it
