Gateway factory reset
Is doing a “restore factory settings” on the gateway’s admin page the same as doing a factory reset holding the reset button or WPS button for a set amount of time on the gateway?
Also, does the gateway need to be activated again through Xfinity app or phone call after a factory reset?

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/troubleshooting-your-cable-modem says they are the same.
No, gateways retain activation even after a factory reset.
