FW.IPv6 INPUT drop , 7345 Attempts,

Hi! I was just reaching out because I have been an Xfinity customer for four years now and I've never really had problems with my Internet. Recently, I started having problems with my Internet and it keeps showing firewall blocked, and then it shows dish next to it. 7345 attempts have been blocked. There are also a few other firewall blocks and my Internet has been spotty. I am having a technician stop out Wednesday. Having the Internet connection drop has been annoying, but that's not my biggest concern. I am very adamant on my security because I work from home at my office and used advance security as well. I just want to know that this is not a security threat. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

user_xsp861 Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Are you still experiencing these issues? Have you recently changed or updated your firewall settings?

Here is a super helpful link for your firewall and setting up the level of security you feel most comfortable with: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/advanced-xfinity-wireless-gateway-features

Please let me kknow if this helps.

Yes, I am still experiencing these issues. I have a technician coming out tomorrow. I have not done anything to the firewall settings.

@XfinityEva also, I just followed the link and I have already done all this. I have gone to the security of the modem through the web browser and look at the security levels. It is set to low.

@user_xsp861 Thank you for the update. Since you already have a technician, let's hold off on any further troubleshooting until that is completed.

In the meantime https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse has instructions on how to report firewall attacks as well as several other security risks.

the tech said this was the first time he had seen this issue and was not sure how to address it.

It's not a security issue. It's just random ever-present background internet noise. Port scanning by bad actors happens all the time. Those messages indicate that the firewall is doing its job, blocking / dropping the attempts. There's nothing to "address" or "resolve".

Was this resolved?  I can only imagine how many others are experiencing this and not reporting it since its intermittent but hard down when it is down.
