Formal Complaint: Internal Survey Manipulation and Incentive Fraud

Details of Incident: On [3/21/2026], I received a phone call from an individual claiming to be an Xfinity supervisor/representative. They offered me a promotional rate of $25 per month for a 4-year term.

To "activate" or "verify" this offer, the representative instructed me to reply with the number "9" to the text message I received from 61591. They explicitly stated this was a verification step for the discount.

The Fraud: After following these instructions, I realized that 61591 is the Xfinity NPS (Net Promoter Score) survey system. The employee used a fraudulent offer to trick me into giving them a high performance rating. I have checked my account, and the $25/month for 4 years does not exist.

My Request:

  1. Investigation: I want a formal investigation into the employee who handled my previous interaction and the "supervisor" who called to solicit the survey score.

  2. Honor the Offer: Since an Xfinity representative made this offer to me to gain a performance benefit, I request that Xfinity honor the $25/month rate.

  3. Security Escalation: Please escalate this to the Customer Security Assurance (CSA) team as this is a breach of ethics and internal policy.

Hi there @user_lqaxy0 thank you so much for reaching out on our Xfinity Community Forum.  I can assure you that is not the experience we want for you as a valued Xfinity Customer, I'll be happy to assist.  Were you able to accept the offer by text, phone or email.  Also, did you get any confirmation of the offer by email or text?

I was unable to 'accept' the offer in the traditional sense because, as I’ve explained, the offer was fraudulent bait used to manipulate a survey. The number that called me was 1 888 266-2278 at 4:56 PM PST.

To answer your questions:

  • How I 'accepted': The representative told me that the only way to 'validate' the $25/month for 4 years offer was to text '9' to 61591.

  • Confirmations: I did not receive an email confirmation because the representative lied about the offer's existence to trick me into giving them a high NPS score.

This isn't a missing discount; it is a breach of ethics by an Xfinity employee. I have the timestamp of the call and the text logs.
