Firmware Updates for Approved Third-Party Equipment - Netgear CM1150V

I have a Netgear CM1150V cable modem that I own and use for my Comcast Internet service. The current firmware version shown on the device's web-based management page is V4.02.02. According to this kb article from Netgear's website, the current firmware version deployed by Comcast for this model modem (CM1150V) is V4.02.04. I reached out to Comcast support to ask about this and to see if they can push down this update manually to my device. I was told that Comcast is not able to update the device because it is a third-party device and that I would need to reach out to Netgear for assistance. This is not true. According to the first three lines from the same kb article from Netgear's website:

"You cannot manually update your NETGEAR cable modem or modem router’s firmware.

NETGEAR provides your ISP with the latest firmware and your ISP updates your firmware.

If your firmware is out of date, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for assistance."

This is echoed on the product support page for the Netgear CM1150V. Comcast's support seems to be misinformed on this issue so they're not of much help here. I suppose it's possible that the firmware version Netgear believes Comcast to be using is different from the version they are actually using. Can anyone with the CM1150V confirm whether or not their modem firmware has been updated to V4.02.04? If so, any tips on how to get out of the support loop on this one to get the update pushed to my device?
